Syon Abbey being an enclosed monastery, its priests undertake no apostolic activity external to it. It is through their publications that the monks have sought to fulfil their mission of defending the One True Faith.
Their magazine Christendom began publication in 1962 and their newsletter Pax in 1981. These have been supplemented by booklets variously doctrinal, historical and devotional in nature.
In the preparation of these the Syon Fathers have been guided by the special instructions given to Catholic writers by Popes Leo XIII and Saint Pius X. Thus in addition to their writings in defense of Sacred Tradition they seek to make more widely known the papal teaching in favour of personal freedom, small property and the return to the land.
No charge is made for any Syon publication. The works of the Community are supported by the free will gifts of its friends.
